Build A Niche Store BANS v3.0 Just Released

Build A Niche Store v3.0Build A Niche Store version 3.0 has just been released! All current BANS users got an email a couple of hours ago at 3:20 pm letting them know that the update to the eBay niche store builder has been finished and is ready for download. (I’ve been watching the BANS forums all day for an announcement)

I downloaded the new version just a few minutes ago and took a quick look at the users manual and it looks great. As soon as I get finished writing this post I’m going to print it out and sit down to read it. From the quick look I had, here are a few things that stand out the most:

1. The admin panel in v3 has been completely updated with a new look.

2. There are 2 new product layouts as pictured below:

3. You can now cloak your eBay affiliate links so they will look like they are internal to your site for much better SEO.
4. You can turn on and off any part of the way auctions display on your site. Auction images, titles, bids, prices, times and PayPal images can all be on or off.
5. You can set up a local store to sell items within any distance of your zip code.
6. You can set up your store to only show items with a minimum number of bids, thus guaranteeing you only show popular items.

My intent is to start the BANS tutorial tomorrow as I set up my new Air Purifier Auctions store. Right now it’s just a shell, but I’m going to upgrade to version 3 later today and start the tutorial tomorrow provided I can get through the manual don’t encounter any issues. I have several other stores I may or may not upgrade to version 3 depending on how easy it is with the new air purifiers store. I purposely haven’t done anything to this store so as to make upgrading as easy as possible.

The 5 part BANS tutorial will cover:

1. Brainstorming a niche and gettng a domain name.
2. Uploading and installing your store and designing a logo.
3. Adding content, title and h1 tags to your store
4. Article Marketing and gettng links
5. More links with USFreeAds

It’s time to print out the manual and start getting familiar with v3.0 of BANS.

If you don’t have it yet, you can get Buld A Niche Store v3.0 here. Current users of BANS can go here to get the update. (you will need your ClickBank receipt number or email address you used when purchasing BANS)

  1. I’ve been reading up on the BANS software and 3.0 looks exciting.

I’m a little confused. Is BANS done from an WordPress foundation? Or is is HTML/CSS?

Reading the FAQ’s you can use your own templates. What kind of templates? Word Press Themes? Can they be used in BANS?

Forgive my ignorance, I’m just hoping to take advantage of Blogging SEO benefits IF it is more of a blog than a web page in the traditional sense.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi Noble,

BANS has it’s own HTML CSS templates, but you can also integrate it into a WordPress template. Unfortunately, I’m not very versed on CSS, WordPress themes and setting up custom templates. I do modify my templates and css on the stores I build so as not to be just a copy cat store of an eBay category.

  3. I haven’t heard of BANS in the past, any of the versions. It looks interesting, but I’m a bit too busy to check it out for now. If I remember, I’ll check it out in once I get some free time.

  4. Great post on BANS.

  5. Thanks Jonathan.

  6. I haven’t heard of BANS before? But I dunno I would rather make a made for adsense site than just stick a bunch of ebay auctions on a site.

  7. […] for the Version 3.0 release before I really dig into it. Alan at affiliate confession has posted a short BANS review, and has promised a more in-depth 5-part tutorial … I’m looking forward to reading […]

  8. wisdom,

The point isn’t just stick a bunch of eBay auctions on a site and hope for the best. Unfortunately there will be individuals that do that (they won’t make that much money), but the best thing to do would be to build a niche content site and monetize it with eBay auctions. That’s what I try to do.

  9. I’ve gotta say, I was way too excited to hear the news last night. The internal cloaking feature was the one thing I really wanted to see.

  10. Alan:

Does BANS works like WordPress in the way it pings the Search engines automatically each time the RSS feed updates a page?

I assume it does – but would like to make sure.

  11. Noble,
BANS doesn’t do this. I think I have read in the BANS forums about people setting up their stores to do this, but that is beyond my technical abilities.

  12. Could BANS be used with ebay only? I’am from asia, it’s so hard to be approved as an ebay affiliates.

  13. Gadget,

Yes, BANS is for eBay only. You can add other advertising to BANS and offer your own affiliate products from other merchants on content pages, but the base of the store is eBay auctions.
