Taking A Little Break At AffiliateConfession.com

Life is getting crazy around the LeStourgeon household. We’re moving into a time of the year when it seems like every week we have something additional to do beyond what’s already going on in life. Jean and I are both in the Christmas musical we’re doing at our church and need to spend time practicing that, I’m playing in the band at our church’s Harvest Party this week, we’re progressing on our addition to our home and on, and on, and on.

All that to say I’m going to be taking a break here from blogging on a regular basis at Affiliate Confession until the first of the year. I’m not going away and will still be posting at the very least once a week, and even as much as 4 times a week if there is pertinent news and affiliate marketing info to publish.

One of the other things I need to be spending time on are to find additional successful PPC campaigns because some of my highest traffic generating campaigns will be going away after the upcoming election. You can generate a bunch of traffic on the Adwords content network by capitalizing on current events, but unfortunately current events only have a life cycle that lasts for so long and then you need to find additional events to take advantage of. Some things, personalities, events or political figures can generate enormous amounts, but the majority of things you think would be great for traffic, usually aren’t. So, it takes a bit of trial and error to find the ones that work well.

Anyway, If you don’t see as many postings from here until the end of the year, don’t be alarmed, I’m still here, I’ll just be working on other things and still posting occasionally.

  1. Have fun with your break and good luck with the musical Alan!

It’s a good thing to let us know what’s going on. There are a lot of bloggers out there who don’t share their stories before taking a break, and therefore, their readers never come back thinking that the blogger has abandoned their blog. Just make sure you’re having fun!

  2. Wow! It sounds like you have a lot going on! Of course, a small break is in order. Good luck with all of your upcoming projects, Alan! I look forward to your posts, and your “relaunch” on January 1!

  3. Best of luck with your projects! Maybe I should take advantage of one less blog a day to work on my own? Nah…. :-D

  4. Hi Alan,

Yes, it’s time of the year when people get busy with their family. Talking about Christmas, why not blog about your Christmas activities? Of course that won’t be making much money.

Is it time for guest blogging?

  5. Good luck with your other endeavors.

  6. See you in the new year Alan !

  7. Totally understand and hope all goes well and you find the time you need to get everything done!

  8. Well, hope when you come back in the new year – back to affiliateconfession. Wish you all the best in all you get up to.

  9. I’ve also cut down on posting – but I didn’t tell my subscribers and suffered dearly with the monthly uniques for October. I think it’s great to be able to take some time away and focus on whats going on around you in the real world.

I hope everything goes as planned, and I look forward to hearing some more PPC Coach material in the new year.

  10. All the best and luck with your projects! Still hope you come back with even better posts..
